March Newsletter

I hope that you all had a blessed Easter! It’s overwhelming to think that God would love us enough to send His only son to die for us. How unworthy we all are.

I hope that you all had a blessed Easter! It’s overwhelming to think that God would love us enough to send His only son to die for us. How unworthy we all are.

The month of March was a little quiet for the Wanda Mountain Boys. Many churches have big Easter musicals and often don’t book outside singers during this time. It was nice to have some family time though and prepare for a busy April.

Sunday, March 9 was a wonderful day. Pastor Nancy Ribes and her congregation at Mt. Olive United Methodist in Mt. Olive, IL were a great bunch to sing to. After the service, they treated us to a wonderful catered Roast Beef dinner with all the trimmings. I have never seen so many pies in my life. We had to sample a few.

That evening we went to Harvel, IL to a relatively new church in that community, the Harvel Community Church. Evangelist Jim Grotts was instrumental in setting up this date. This church was approached by the owners of the property and building that they meet in about forming a new church there. They were able to buy the building, fully furnished and a huge empty lot next door for only $7500.00. I share that with you because it is a true miracle of God. We had a great service there and the Spirit of God really moved. We only hope that we uplifted them as much as they did us.

Keep watching our schedule as it changes regularly. Doors continue to open for us and we look forward to seeing you all at some future services.

I would like to invite all of you, in the St. Louis area, to a special benefit concert being sponsored by the Grace Freewill Baptist Church in Arnold, MO. On Saturday, April 26, the Wanda Mountain Boys will be joined by our friends, The Redemptions, a wonderful trio from St. Louis. This is another benefit concert for my sister and brother in-law to help them with mounting hospital bills. Start time is 6:30 p.m. An offering will be taken.

Claude and Shirley have recently returned from a 10 day trip to their Florida home. Both Rod and I were involved in our Easter productions at our home churches. I had the opportunity to attend one evening of the big production done by St. Matthews United Methodist Church in Belleville, IL. Rod was working as an usher. This is quite a production complete with live animals.

Keep looking for news on our upcoming project. We have some great new songs in the works.
