April was a good month for the Wanda Mountain Boys. We kicked it off with our friends at Heritage Freewill Baptist Church in Springfield, IL. Pastor Karel Smith and his congregation was a great bunch to sing to.

It’s hard to believe that May is half over. It seems as if I just finished putting the period on the last sentence of the March newsletter and here we are again.

April was a good month for the Wanda Mountain Boys. We kicked it off with our friends at Heritage Freewill Baptist Church in Springfield, IL. Pastor Karel Smith and his congregation was a great bunch to sing to. The following Sunday, we traveled back to the Springfield area again and joined Rev. Bob Green and the Salisbury Christian Church for Sunday morning worship. We had a wonderful time visiting with them.

April 19th was a special day as we had the opportunity to hold a Saturday worship service at a Nazarene mission and food pantry in Washington Park, IL. The majority of the congregation that day was African American. As we began to sing, the Spirit of the Lord began to fall and we began to worship as one in the family of God. Just imagine, this is what Heaven will be like.

April 26th was another special evening as we were joined by our friends the Redemptions at Grace Freewill Baptist Church in Arnold, MO. This is the home church of my sister, Teresa, and her husband, Brad. The church was hosting a benefit memorial concert for them to raise money for medical expenses after the loss of their daughter. This was quite a night of singing. At last count, over $11000.00 was raised. Praise the Lord!!!
